Hello, everyone! We’re excited to launch the very first blog for the Thrussington Primary PTFA (Parent, Teacher, and Friends Association)! I’m not entirely sure how I ended up volunteering for this, but here we are! As I figure out the ins and outs of blogging, I want to take a moment to highlight why we thought this would be a great idea.
The work we do as the PTFA can sometimes feel a bit behind-the-scenes, and it’s easy for the reasons behind our fundraising efforts to get lost in the chaos. This blog aims to be a valuable resource for parents, guardians, and community members alike, offering updates on school events, fundraising initiatives, and other important announcements.
What You Can Expect
Through this blog, we hope to showcase how the PTFA is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for our pupils and contributing to the overall success of Thrussington Primary. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can look forward to:
· Fundraising Updates: Stay in the loop about our latest campaigns and see how your contributions are making a difference.
· School Events: Get informed about upcoming activities like fetes, concerts, and sports days.
· Feature Articles: Discover inspiring stories about our pupils, teachers, and staff, highlighting the positive impact of our work.
· Community News: Keep up-to-date with local events and opportunities that may be of interest to our school community.
Breaking the Stereotype
We know that PTAs can sometimes be viewed as a group of ‘cliquey’ do-gooders with too much time on their hands. We want to change that perspective! In reality, we are a small, caffeine-fuelled team of overworked and unpaid volunteers, juggling careers and families while striving to make Thrussington Primary a little more special for our children.
We all chose this school for our kids, and we believe it’s worth putting in that extra effort, whether it’s wrestling with a few gazebos or selling ice cream in the pouring rain! Despite our limited resources, we’re committed to making a positive impact. But we need your support!
Get Involved
We hope that by sharing more about the PTFA and our initiatives, you’ll feel inspired to get involved—whether that means baking a cake, selling raffle tickets, or volunteering an hour of your time at one of our events.
Thank you for taking the time to read our first blog post! Keep an eye out for more updates, and please feel free to share your thoughts, feedback, and any ideas you may have. We can’t wait to connect with all of you!
Here’s to a great year ahead at Thrussington Primary!
