COMMUNITY BOOK SWAP
Nestled just off the Green in the heart of our village, you’ll discover our delightful PTFA Community Book Swap, and it’s open to everyone! It’s as easy as this: drop off a book you’ve enjoyed and take home a new one in return—all we ask for is a small donation. This initiative not only fosters a love of reading but also promotes a culture of sharing and sustainability. So, whether you’re an avid reader or just looking for your next great story, come visit us and help raise funds for the school in the process!
This year, we’ve had fantastic success with our Bags2School program, raising over £500! This initiative encourages families to donate gently used textiles and unwanted clothing, helping to keep them out of landfills. Throughout the year, you’ll see our posters reminding you to gather your unwanted items, and we’ll even provide you with donation bags for your convenience. Bags2School then make a payment to Thrussington Primary PTFA based on the weight of the donation. Donations are then sorted and embark on new journeys around the globe—whether as affordable clothing in local markets in East or West Africa, or as part of purpose-built second-hand stores in Eastern Europe or South America. NEARLY NEW UNIFORM SHOP
Children outgrow their school uniforms at lightning speed, often leaving behind barely worn items. We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Nearly New Uniform Shop! What better way to help the environment than by giving gently used school uniforms a new life? Our PTFA preloved uniform cupboard is always stocked with uniforms and sports kits for your convenience. You can purchase items directly from our website, or if you have specific uniform needs or want to pay cash then simply get in touch with us.
We’ll arrange to have the items sent to your child’s classroom for easy collection.
